One way to Bangkok 8th December 2014

Here we go again…

Don’t get me wrong, I don’t hate England… English summertime can be beautiful… Riding my ponies, hanging out with the best friends anyone could ask for, chilling at home with my cats… I am a very lucky girl.

But I’ve always craved for that little bit more. I’ve always wanted adventure. Traveling allows you to see places and meet people you would never have imagined. It makes you braver, it makes you more open and accepting of others and it makes you appreciate every little thing.

So many times have I heard ‘I hate my job’, ‘I’m so bored of life’, ‘I have no money’. I used to be one of those people… by why wait around miserable for something to happen when there is so much out there. My problem was I wasn’t quite miserable enough until some personal events in 2014 and a short trip to Thailand made me realize life was too short to wait for excitement… I was going to go and find it.

So having spent the summer in England working, seeing my friends and family and having acquired a new house guest… After spending weeks looking at prices on Skyscanner, I’m packing up my much smaller backpack and have booked a one way ticket to Bangkok… I leave 8th December. Where am I going ? I don’t know. What am I going to do ? I will sort that out later but the main thing here is… why the hell not. What is stopping me…

Hey :-)
I love reading your blog! So much great stuff on here. I’m leaving to travel solo from the beginning of November, starting in SE Asia… I just wondered, after reading this post, could you recommend anywhere to spend the Christmas/New Year period in Thailand? Seems a bit early to be thinking about it but I figured I should get some ideas! Xx

Oh Vicky you will have an amazing time! Thank you for your lovely comments! The islands are always an awesome place to spend Christmas and New year… Koh Tao and Koh Lanta will be pretty chilled but still have some amazing parties where as Koh Phangan or Phi Phi are a lot more party orientated! I found places were getting a bit booked up for Xmas and New year End of October time so you may have to book somewhere which is a bit of a pain for solo travel as I like to go with the flow depending on who I meet etc. Let me know if you want anymore info and we can chat via Facebook or email :)
