Set 11 new questions for my nominees to answer.
Let the bloggers know they have been nominated for the Liebster Award.

Here are the questions Anna at Global Gallivanting set me:

What has been your top travel experience so far?

This is a hard one as I have had so many amazing experiences. But the top spot has to go to Koh Rong, Cambodia. I spent a week on Koh Rong and Koh Rong Samloen island and it holds the top spot for the most amazing island paradise I have been to. Beautiful beaches, laid back vibe and rustic beach bars and huts. Every body was so friendly and chilled out. Days are spent hiking and snorkeling. Nights drinking beers on the beach.  We camped on the beach in Koh Rong Samloen. Apart from the sand in the bed and the stinky, wild water buffalo, it was perfect! Looking back it was the most amazing experience! I could have stayed there forever!

How many countries have you been to and when was your first big trip?

26 countries so far. I am aiming to get to 30 by the end of 2015. My first big trip was in 2005 when I taught horse riding in New York and traveled America for 6 months. It was my first time off on my own and I loved it.

Name 5 things on the top of your bucket list?

I need to go to Iceland. Every time I see a picture of the Northern Lights or an Icelandic horse, it moves it further up my list.

Burning Man festival in Nevada looks amazing.

Italy. Pizza and pasta. Enough said.

Nashville. I am obsessed with cowboys and country music.

Learn to play the guitar. I can play approximately two songs. One of them being ‘Leaving on a jet plane’, which has three cords. I say I can play two songs but I suck! I will get better!

Do you have a guilty pleasure that you don’t travel without?

Palmers Cocobutter. You cannot get it everywhere so I have to stock up when I find it so I am often carrying a lot of bottles of it with me.

Do you prefer to travel alone, with a group of friends, family or partner?

I enjoy travelling alone but I prefer to travel with my boyfriend. We enjoy doing the same kind of things, like taking naps and eating so there is not as much need for compromise like there is when you travel in large groups.

What’s the most ridiculous souvenir you’ve ever bought?

I bought ten bars of coconut soap in the Philippines. You may think that is not ridiculous, but it is when they weight a ton and you have to carry them in your backpack for the next 10 weeks. Bad move!

What’s your top tip for saving money for travel?

You do not need that £300 hand bag or that new dress. The best way to save is to stop spending. Saying no to one night out can save you at least £60. When my friends want to go to the pub, I invite everyone to mine and get everyone to bring a £5 bottle of wine.

If you had a month to live, how would you spend it?

Agh this question makes me panic. I worry about everything and dying is one of them so this is something I have thought about. I would do pretty much what I am doing now. Riding ponies, hanging out with my friends and family and partying. I would probably hit up Vegas and Koh Rong one last time too.

Whats the most under rated destination that you have been to?

Laos. Lots of people skip Laos on the Banana backpacker route (Thailand, Cambodia, Vietnam, Laos), but I loved it. The people are so friendly, and the country is beautiful and not over run by tourists. The waterfall in Luang Prabang is among the most beautiful I have ever seen.

If you could be anywhere right now where would you be and why?

Berlin. I really fancy a Currywurst and chips. I love it so much. Obsessed!

What’s your top tip for first time travellers

Don’t plan too much. I hate having to decide how long to spend in a place before I get there. What if you love it? What if you hate it? What if you meet really cool people that you want to spend and extra day with?

Just book your first place and see what happens.
